Dual SIM mobile phones are devices that allow users to access two different SIM cards with just one handset. Dual SIM handsets provide the convenience of two cell phones with a one-mobile solution thereby providing convenience for those who wish to separate business and personal calls using two separate phone numbers, as well as those who travel frequently and want a local number for each location.

In drive to high-jack the fast growing Nigerian mobile market from second grade (aka China phone) manufacturers; that integrate both simplicity and innovation at a value far less, the main mobile market share holders have decided to fight back with the introduction of a more convenient dual sim phones.
Manufacturers like Nokia, Samsung, LG and Motorola are already leading the trail with more representation by LGmobile with a range of options to choose from and a promise of longer battery life.
Nokia C2 Dual SIM Touch and Types for example allow SIM change to minimise call and data costs. Keep one SIM inside your phone and use the easy-swap slot to switch between multiple cards as often as you want.
In the words of George Ferreira, Samsung Electronics Africa Chief Operating Officer  "What’s more, users can switch between SIM cards easily and without needing to reboot the mobile device. Switching SIM card commands are obeyed with a tap of the finger, the use of dual SIM cards has never been easier or more intuitive."
Samsung dual SIM phones include E1225F-Lesedi, E2152-Pampas, B5722, C3222, C6112 and B7722-Sorento(Dual standby).
In view of this trend, it is therefore no sin for Nigerian mobile user to have more that one active sim card as the procurement price is less than $1.50.
