Introducing the World's highest paid Player: Samuel Eto'o Fils


Samuel Eto'o  is a Cameroonian professional footballer (born on 10 March 1981) and now plays as a striker for Russian team Anzhi Makhachkala after a big move from Inter Millan.
Eto'o scored over 100 goals in five seasons with FC Barcelona, and is also the record holder in number of appearances by an African player in La Liga. In 2010, he became the first
player to win two European Continental Trebles following his back-to-back achievements with Barcelona and Internazionale. He is the second player to have ever scored in two separate UEFA Champions League finals and the fourth player, after Marcel Desailly, Paulo Sousa, and Gerard Piqué, to have won the UEFA Champions League two years in a row with different teams. He is the most decorated African player of all time having won the African Player of the Year award a record four times in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2010.
As a member of the Cameroon national team, he was a part of the squad that won the2000 Olympic tournament; he has participated in three World Cups and six African Nations Cups (being champion twice) and is the all-time leading scorer in the history of the African Nations Cup, with 18 goals. Eto'o is widely regarded as one of the best African footballers in history.
Anzhi Makhachkala completed the signing of Samuel Eto'o on a three-year deal turning down the extension demanded by the player.The Russian club released a statement on their official website confirming the transfer, and are expected to pay the Italian club €28 million for the player's rights, while Eto'o will receive €20m per year during his stay in Dagestan.
Delegates from Anzhi met with Inter officials on Wednesday 21st August, and Eto'o has since passed a medical in Rome, completing the formalities of the deal.
Eto'o spent two years at San Siro following a five-year spell with Barcelona. During his time at Inter he won a Champions League, one Club World Cup, one Scudetto, two Coppe Italia and a Supercoppa Italiana. He scored 53 goals in 102 appearances for the club, including 37 in 53 games in the 2010-11 season.
The Cameroon national team captain has also worn the colours of Leganes, Espanyol, Real Madrid and Mallorca during his illustrious career, and becomes ambitious Anzhi's most high-profile signing following the previous purchases of players such as Roberto Carlos and Balazs Dzsudzsak.
